2SLGBTQI+ Safety Matters for Healthcare Providers

How to create a safe, comfortable, inclusive environment for 2SLGBTQI+ folks

As healthcare providers, we want to make sure our patients receive the best quality care. But because of past experiences, negative encounters, and problematic systems, 2SLGBTQI+ people may be extra nervous about visiting a healthcare centre and providing their private information and health concerns. Healthcare should be accessible for everyone and be provided in an inclusive, affirmative, and respectful environment.

In this seminar you will learn about LGBTQ+, some of the labels and terminology, the importance of awareness about this community, how to ensure respectful and positive relationships that build trust, and steps you can take to create a safe and welcoming environment.

Tracy Whitmore has 14+ years of experience as a therapist, advocate, social worker, and coach who is committed to achieving a powerful goal:

“I dream of a world that’s safe, supportive, and enjoyable for all LGBTQ+ people.”

What will this seminar cover?
